CBD and Chronic Pain

Chronic pain can be successfully managed with the best CBD oil available on the high street or online.

We can experience chronic pain from various health conditions or even injuries.  How we manage that pain is not only an individual choice, but how we choose to remedy the pain depends on our own physicality and beliefs.

The usual way we manage pain is to take prescription drugs.  A doctor will normally access the situation with our health, and recommend what he/she thinks is best for us as a remedy.  In this recommendation, not only is the health condition or injury considered, but also things such as gender, height, weight, tolerance, frequency of pain, etc. is taken into account.

All these factors together will determine what is best for a speedy recovery.

Typical pain can be assessed by two categories.  We have acute pain and chronic pain.  Acute pain is normally something related to soft tissue damage.  The healing process for acute pain can be anything from 3 to 6 months.  Chronic pain is more severe and can last for a long time, depending on how it's managed.

CHRONIC PAIN CAN BE DEBILITATING AND HARD TO MANAGE

Chronic pain can be caused in many ways.  For instance, you could lift a heavy object and pull a muscle.  The muscle will inflame and this can cause discomfort for an untold amount of time.  Alternatively, you may be sleeping on a mattress that is not suitable for your physique.  Prolonged use of a poor mattress that does not support your back for example, can prove to be detrimental to your health after long term use.

Being overweight is another way your body can suffer from chronic pain.  The strain that extra weight can put on limbs and muscles can cause severe pain in some instances.  Managing weight with a healthy diet and exercise routine will help chronic pain that being overweight can cause.

Not only does chronic pain affect our physical well-being, but it can also affect our mental health.

When we are in pain it's as if we can think about nothing else.  The pain transmits to our brain, and until we get some relief we cannot relax.  Pain can also affect our emotions.  We can become very sensitive or short-tempered quite easily.

Therefore, managing pain in a way that suits us will find the correct balance.  We quickly learn our tolerance levels, and realise what works best for us.  Rest and relaxation are a massive part of the healing process.

DISTRACTION TECHNIQUES ARE GOOD TO MANAGE PAIN

Distraction techniques can be tried in an attempt to stop thinking about the pain.  Severe pain can actually take over many other emotions.  If we try to do something else, it may take our minds off the over-bearing pain.

Things such as :

  • reading a book
  • playing an instrument
  • listening to music
  • doing a crossword
  • meditation
  • knitting

etc., can all help.

For those who suffer long term with chronic pain, prescription drugs are not the preferred option.

Long term use of certain drugs can have dependency issues, side effects, and sometimes our bodies become that used to a certain drug, eventually it has no effect.

Alternative medicine has long been a popular choice for many.  This can come in difference forms, such as hypnotherapy, cryotherapy, acupuncture, and others.

CBD (cannabidiol) has also become an alternative therapy in recent years.  It is becoming more popular as a go-to remedy.  There are many CBD products on our high street now, and also online.  Buying quality CBD products has never been easier.

CBD is derived from the hemp plant.  It is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid with healing properties.  This means that it does not give mind-altering effects when used.

There are a range of products available in the CBD range.  CBD flower, oil, edibles, vapes, pre-rolls, cartridges, personal care, and others, are all beneficial to health.

CBD oil for instance is a versatile supplement that can be administered underneath the tongue.  Putting CBD oil underneath the tongue is the fastest way to get it's beneficial properties into your bloodstream.

CBD OIL CAN BE ADMINISTERED UNDERNEATH THE TONGUE FOR RAPID RELIEF

Finding the best CBD oil is one that has been EU regulated.  EU Regulations and Guidelines ensure that it is legal and safe.  THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) levels need to be <0.2% or <0.3% in some countries.

THC is of course the psychoactive component that gives mind-altering effects.  THC is illegal in most countries, and the penalties for misuse can be quite severe.  However, medications containing THC are available to very few who hold a prescription.

CBD is a safe and non-addictive remedy.  How it works it pretty straightforward.  We have our own in-built endocannabinoid system.  This system is in two parts, CB1 and CB2 receptors.

CB1 receptors are located in the brain, spinal cord, peripheral organs and tissues, reproductive glands, gastrointestinal and urinary tracts.

CB2 receptors are located in the tonsils, white blood cells, spleen, liver, bones and peripheral nerve terminals.

When we take CBD oil it makes it's way to our endo-cannabinoid receptors where it's most needed.

Some of the health conditions CBD is successful in addressing are :

  • arthritis
  • rheumatic pain
  • migraine
  • back pain
  • inflammation
  • fibromyalgia

....and many more.

Organic CBD is a versatile and affordable supplement not just for treating chronic pain, but also for general health and well-being.
