HHC (hexahydrocannabinol) is the newest cannabinoid to hit the cannabis market. It is already making a name for itself, and seems to be the buzzword within the online market too. You can now buy all manner of HHC products, such as HHC flower, HHC hash, HHC edibles, HHC vapes & cartridges, HHC oils & tinctures, HHC shake, and much more in Germany, and also other countries worldwide.
Although it is only now that we are being made aware of HHC, it has in fact, been around since 1944. It was an American Chemist called Roger Adams, who first created HHC. He used a process called hydrogenation, whereby he added hydrogen molecules to Delta 9 THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).
Delta 9 THC is probably the most famous cannabinoid derived from the cannabis plant. There is no doubt this is due to it's robust psychoactive effect, and also the healing qualities it has. Delta 9 is also known by it's street names, i.e. 'pot', 'green', 'dope','Mary Jane', 'grass', and others.
However, in most countries Delta 9 is deemed illegal. This mind-altering compound is unlawful to cultivate, possess, supply, or consume, and there are penalties for doing so, the severity of which depends on how and where in the world the contravention is committed.
Despite it's illegal status, Delta 9 has been around for centuries. It has been used in many cultures in spiritual practices, rituals, and also in a medicinal capacity.
Medical cannabis is becoming a familiar phrase, as many are turning to THC to remedy numerous health conditions, both mental and physical. In the UK medical cannabis became available in 2018, although the criteria to be eligible for such a prescription involves rigorous evaluation of the health condition which is to be addressed.
Another very popular cannabinoid produced from the hemp plant is CBD (cannabidiol). Over the last several years, CBD has undoubtedly become a household name. It seems the cannabis family are accomplished in the medicinal department, with each cannabinoid having their own healing properties.
HHC can address things such as chronic pain, inflammation, nausea, poor sleep, anxiety, and more. Vaping with HHC can be a relaxing pastime, but it is a matter of personal preference how you consume HHC.
Unlike CBD, which is completely non-psychoactive, HHC is almost as psychoactive as Delta 9. For now it seems to lie in a grey area where lawfulness is concerned, although it is widely available.
