The Gym And CBD

Hands up who's going back to the gym soon?  At last there seems to be some light at the end of the very dark Coronavirus tunnel.

Globally many have had to endure some degree of restriction over the last 12 months, in an effort by everyone to contain this unexpected pandemic.

Our lives have become remarkably different, with usual habits and enjoyable pastimes becoming a distant memory.

One important area of our lives is our physical exercise.  The benefits of regular activity have been recognised for many years.  There is no doubt that physical and also importantly, mental improvements, are achieved with regular movement.

It is, however, a very personal choice how and what we do to exercise.  Bearing in mind that some people are more able-bodied than others, and also that mental attitudes towards physical exertion can vary greatly.

Disguised as 'willpower' our mental attitude towards physical activity is where it all starts.  Setting achievable goals is probably the best way to kick start a good routine.  Putting pressure on yourself and setting unrealistic athlete-style targets in the beginning of a new regime, is sure to produce failure.

Also comparing ourselves to what others can achieve is not a good idea.  Ours is a personal journey.  We are, after all, unique individuals.  What may suit one person, will not suit another.

The dream of what we want to achieve starts with an idea, and that should be realistic.  Starting with small, achievable steps is definitely the way forward, and has more chance of success.

Our bodies release chemicals called 'Endorphins' when we exercise.  It is often referred to as the 'feel good' chemical.  It is what naturally happens when we physically move out of our comfort zone.  It is hard not to get addicted to this feeling.  It is so positive and elating, that once we experience the sensation once, we want it again and again.  Continuing with regular practices will produce a positive general health and wellbeing attitude and effect.

Of course hand in hand with physical exercise also comes a good nutritional diet.  A good diet is very important.  The food we eat is basically the fuel our bodies need to work properly.  Consuming unhealthy food has a detrimental effect on our health.  Not only this, but when we eat unhealthily we know about it.  Not only does it make us feel physically sluggish, but it can also impact our mental health with guilt and negativity.

When we choose to eat better, we naturally want to exercise, and visa versa, so it's a win win situation.

In addition to a healthy lifestyle, supplements such as vitamins and minerals can give us a boost.  They can not only enhance vitality and stamina, but they can help us recover and repair from physical activities.

Although we get most of what we need from a healthy and varied diet, some vitamins can't be stored in our system, or they are often depleted for various reasons.

However, tailoring additional supplements is a personal choice.  As we embark on a healthy lifestyle, our bodies will cleverly let us know what we need.

Aftercare from any physical activity is important.  A session in the gym can leave us exhausted, so it's advisable to view new goals with moderation.  Our muscles need to adapt and repair.  Interestingly, this physical regeneration of our body takes place while we are sleeping, and that's a good reason to get your quota of good sleep.

It is important to develop good techniques after we have been physically active.  The cooling-down process done correctly is vital to good heart health.  Stretching and breathing routines are paramount to relax muscles and prevent painful injury.

Research and study has shown that CBD (cannabidiol) is a great all-round supplement that can help with pain relief and injury.  CBD is not only a good relaxant, but it's anti-inflammatory.

CBD is derived from the hemp plant, it contains over 100 cannabinoids packed with powerful health benefits.

We do, however, have our own in-built endocannabinoid system.  This system regulates things such as our memory, sleep, mood, appetite, and even reproductive organs.

CBD naturally binds with our own endocannabinoid system to give pain relief and remedy to many physical ailments.  It will target pain and boost general immunity.

CBD contains <0.2%THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the compound known for giving a psychoactive effect.  In other words CBD will not alter the mind.

CBD can usually be found in flower or oil form. Both forms are versatile, and can be added into a daily routine quite easily.

The CBD flower is often smoked, but without harmful tobacco.  It can also be added in to food and drink effortlessly.

CBD oil is generally administered under the tongue.  Just a couple of drops daily is enough to give a beneficial effect.  The oil can also be applied topically when mixed with a carrier oil, such as coconut or almond, to relieve swelling and inflammation.

CBD is non-addictive and safe to use.  It is governed by EU Regulations and Guidelines.

CBD is the perfect supplement to support a healthy lifestyle and boost immunity.
